The Weekly Memo: Weak & Woke
A new poll released by a Democratic Super PAC reports that Americans find Democrat politicians to be “woke” and “weak.”
The Hill reports that the Democratic Party has not only consistently lost support from white men, but it has also seen declining support among Hispanic men and working-class voters overall. While the left-wing media has ramped up attacks on the current administration and Democratic politicians have attempted to rally their base against the President’s conservative victories, the publication also notes that the poll found enthusiasm within the Democratic Party to be waning following last year’s Republican victory.
It is not surprising that this struggle for Democrats has largely been drowned out in media circles by biased coverage of the Trump Administration. Most headlines seem to feature doom and gloom stories, citing legacy media polls that claim declining support for the America First agenda.
Despite dismissing very positive polling for the administration reported by some networks, even establishment sources cannot deny the President’s tremendous support in the heart of the country. Plus, if you take the left-wing media’s analysis of public sentiment at face value, something just doesn’t meet the smell test: their so-called conventional wisdom is based on the premise that the American people are rejecting exactly what they voted for in November. After all, the President is doing exactly what he said he would do.
While the fear-mongering machine of the media can certainly impact poll numbers, it is difficult to believe the conclusion that fundamental support for America First policies among voters has been completely reversed within just a few months. In addition, the media establishment’s narrative seems especially dubious considering objectively positive economic indicators for the current administration that even left-leaning economists can’t ignore, like a strong labor market, record stock market gains, and lower inflation.
