The Hill reported yesterday that President Trump’s approval rating increased two points in the latest CBS News/YouGov survey, due to slightly improving numbers with independent and moderate voters.
Homeless Rates in America Have Grown Almost 40 Percent in Recent Years
KFF published a report yesterday stating that, from 2018 to 2024, the number of people reporting homelessness for at least a single night increased nearly 40 percent, to over 771,000 people.
Majority Support Trump on Crime; 81 Percent Think Crime Is Major Problem in Big Cities
The AP-NORC poll released August 27 showed that 81 percent of Americans believe crime is a "major issue" (96 percent of Republicans, 68 percent of Democrats, 72 percent of Independents). Regarding Trump, 53 percent of Americans approve of the President’s methods in combating crime.
Sooner Survey Released
Pat McFerron with CHS & Associates released a statewide Oklahoma gubernatorial poll on August 25. Unsurprisingly, the survey reported incredibly high favorability numbers for President Trump with Republican primary voters - 84 percent (68 percent “strongly,” 16 percent “somewhat”). Oklahoma is solidly Trump country.
Americans’ View of Capitalism Declining
According to a Gallup report released yesterday, Americans’ positive view of capitalism dropped to 54 percent from 60 percent in 2021, where it largely hovered historically. Americans’ view of socialism remained largely unchanged, with 39 percent having a positive view of the system.
